The GERD diet rocks!
So you get to a certain age and a preference, if not passion, for good meals and drink and sometimes, sometimes you experience a need, often nocturnally, for a couple of Tums. Said tablets are likely as not consumed in a kind of fevered mania which has you shoving them rapidly into your mouth whilst a grim pain grips your upper chest and you think What the Hell did I have for dinner?

And then it comes back to you: a sweet memory to accompany all that heartburn. A shockingly dry German Reisling that preceded a pair of Dragon Fires, the latter hard shaken by a beautiful mixologist sporting a heavy hand with the Herradura Reposado tequila. Such tequila! Such heat!
And now it’s 3:21am and your head feels like someone twisted it off your neck and you are already crossing things off tomorrow’s calendar. Lots of things.
Time to dial it back on the tequila, admittedly but what about the incredibly delicious but typically fatty osso bucco with brussel sprouts (a little salty but good) — was that necessary? Wouldn’t a nice rare-ish salmon filet have been a better choice?
There’s a new Web site out there to help you make some of those dining decisions that often turn awry and lead straight to the Tums. The site is the thegerddiet.com, full of great GERD recipes and menus for a healthy and yes, tasty change of menu.
